The Adventures of Barnaby Twickins

the first volume of the

Threepenny Tales
series:

The Adventures of Barnaby Twickins

The
Nonsense Adventures
of a
Clowning Prodigy

The first in the
THREEPENNY TALES  series,
The Adventures of Barnaby Twickins
was born of a desire for something light,
after three serious novels.

No research was required, except for a little inspiration from the 17th/18th centuries.

It amused me to open the tale in a gloomy northern location where the only bright element was my protagonist.

The setting changes as Barnaby makes his way south to find his place in the world; his quest will take him to exotic locations where his heart's desire is rewarded.

Barnaby was written for young children, but I rather hope he delights young and old. The language is a little quaint, the pace quick, the tone quirky. Barnaby brings cheer to all around him because he is an optimist undeterred by misfortune.

"We love to laugh, we love to smile
And keep our aim in view:
We’ll jest and jape and use our guile
To make the World smile too!"
